Robert Mapplethorpe, who was born in 1946 and passed away in 1989, is one of the few artists who truly deserve to be known far beyond the borders of the art world. Si como dice Jean Cocteau "la moda muere joven", ( principal inspirador del nombre de este blog) Balenciaga escapa a esa ley. El gran modisto vasco se supo imponer como el más imaginativo de su época, viviendo únicamente para y por una obra nunca igualada, y dedicado a la búsqueda de la más sobria elegancia. A lo largo de todos estos años, su intemporalidad aparece como una evidencia. Sus creaciones a menudo oponían la simplicidad y la mesura a una audacia en ocasiones excéntrica y abstracta. Balenciaga era la austeridad y la violencia barroca de España.

Balenciaga interpretó numerosos estilos artísticos de la historia del arte a lo largo de toda su carrera. Concretamente se inspiró en los trajes de las princesas de los retratos de Diego Velázquez, las mantillas de las señoras de Goya, y las formas cubistas de Picasso.

pues bien, con todos estos argumentos he intentado llevar a cabo mi tesis para un trabajo de teoría del arte ,que he realizado junto con Laia, a la hora de considerar un diseñador de moda como un auténtico artista, y reivindicar ya de una vez que se consagre la moda como el octavo arte.
